One last step to make sure I actually reach you.

Your first email is on its way from [email protected] — but before it lands, spend 60 seconds doing the steps below. It makes all the difference.

Keep me out of spam

Email providers are overzealous. Follow these steps so nothing I send ends up somewhere you'll never see it.

Check your spam or junk folder now

My first email may have already landed there. Search for [email protected] and look in your spam, junk, or promotions folder.

Mark it as "Not Spam"

If you find it in spam, open it and click Not Spam or Mark as Safe. This tells your provider to trust me going forward.

Add me to your contacts

Add [email protected] to your contacts or address book. This is the single most effective thing you can do to guarantee delivery.

Move me to your primary inbox

If my email lands in a Promotions or Updates tab, drag it across to your Primary inbox and confirm when prompted. Gmail will ask if you want to do this for future emails — say yes.

Reply to my first email

Even just a quick "got it" or "can't wait" tells your email provider that we have a real relationship — and it's the fastest way to improve deliverability long term.

  1. Open Gmail and search [email protected]
  2. If you find my email in Spam, open it and click Report not spam
  3. Click the three dots menu and select Add to Contacts
  4. If my email is in your Promotions tab, drag it to Primary
  5. When Gmail asks "Do this for future messages?" — click Yes
  1. Open Outlook and check your Junk Email folder
  2. If you find my email there, right-click and select Mark as Not Junk
  3. Go to Settings → View all Outlook settings → Mail → Junk email
  4. Under Safe senders, add [email protected]
  5. Click Save
  1. Open Mail and check your Junk folder
  2. If you find my email there, click Not Junk at the top
  3. Open any email from me, hover over [email protected]
  4. Click the dropdown arrow and select Add to Contacts
  5. On iPhone: tap the sender name, then Create New Contact
  1. Open Yahoo Mail and check your Spam folder
  2. If you find my email there, click Not Spam
  3. Go to Settings → More Settings → Filters
  4. Add a new filter for emails from [email protected]
  5. Set it to deliver to your Inbox and save
